Patrons are responsible for the condition of library materials they borrow. If material is damaged, destroyed, or stolen, the borrower should notify library staff as soon as possible. The borrower may then choose one of the following options:

• Replace damaged material with newly purchased item (same title, author & ISBN) deemed acceptable by Library Director. (Note: This option is only available for material owned by the Sunderland Public Library.)
• Pay replacement fee according to the following schedule (checks made payable to the Sunderland Public Library):
