Auction to benefit Sunderland Public Library! November 15th – November 21st

Shop for homemade holiday gifts at the Friends of the Sunderland Public Library Auction! All items are handmade and donated by their maker to benefit Sunderland Public Library and their Program Fund.

Bidding will be done online, as was done last year, but the items will also be available for viewing in the library on November 12th from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM and November 13th from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Then the auction website will go live for bidding on the morning of Monday, November 15th. Bidding will close on Sunday, November 21st.

Pickup of items by successful bidders will be on Monday, November 22nd, Tuesday, November 23rd, and Saturday, November 27th.

What is the Friends of SPL Handmade Crafts Auction? The SPL Handmade Crafts Auction is a fundraising event that features items donated by local craftspeople and devoted patrons of the library. All proceeds support Sunderland Public Library’s public programs.

Is the Handmade Auction completely online? Bidding will be completely online, but the items can be viewed in person on 11/12 and 11/13 at the library. Online bidding begins on Monday 11/15. We are using the online auction platform Auctria, as we did last year. You can access the online auction at charityauction.bid/spl

What kinds of items will I find in this auction? There will be a variety of items from local craftspeople including blankets, scarves, hats, stuffed toys, household goods, and more.

Will I be able to see the actual items before I bid? If so where? When? How? You can view the online auction before bidding begins if you click on this link. The items will be available to view in person at the library on 11/12 and 11/13.

How do I bid on items? Please visit charityauction.bid/spl to view the items for bid and to place your bids. You will need to register for an account with Auctria before you can bid on items. All you need is an email address in order to register. You do not need to register to view the items available in the auciton.

How will I know if I have won an item? You will receive an email both from Auctria and the Friends of Sunderland Public Library notifying you of your winning bid.

How will I pay for items that I have won? You can pay for items that you have won with a credit card through the Auctria website. You can instead make arrangements to pay by check through the Friends of Sunderland Public Library. The Friends will email you once you have won an item, and you can decide then how you would like to pay.

Do I need a credit card to use Auctria? You do not need to add a credit card to your Auctria account. All that is required for sign up is an email address. If you win an item, the Friends of Sunderland Public Library will contact you to arrange payment through your preferred method.

How will the funds raised through this online auction be used? 100% of the funds raised through the Friends of Sunderland Public Library Virtual Arts, Crafts, and Business Fair will go towards supporting Sunderland Public Library. These funds will support the library’s public programs and technology for the public to use, among other vital services to the community.
