Did you know that you can get a Sunderland Public Library Card?
Here are some ways that the Sunderland Public Library can add to what your college library has to offer:
-
Quiet study space:
We have free wi-fi Internet (you don’t need a card to log in), comfy chairs, computers (if you need a backup), printing, copying, scanning to email, and other Technology resources. Sometimes your large college library might be too busy for writing a paper, or you might just need to print something quickly. Some students find it works to start a project at the public library with an overview of your topic, and then do in-depth research at your college library.
-
Online Resources:
We have some Databases that are specific for local research, Digital Collections with e-books and audiobooks, and other trusted and vetted online resources through the BPL eCard. (See below).
-
Boston Public Library e-card:
If you reside permanently in Massachusetts or you live in-state for part of the year to attend school you can register for a Boston Public Library eCard, which gives you access to many Online Resources, including:
-
Free Entertainment:
We have lots of free streaming media available through Overdrive, Kanopy, Hoopla (with your BPL eCard) and also loads of DVDs and audiobooks on CD.
-
Programs for Children:
If you’re a parent or a caregiver for children, we have lots of Programs for kids.
Other College-related resources:
-
Exam Proctoring
-
Financial Assistance
The Office of Student Financial Assistance of the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education has a lot of tools & info for students on how to pay for college and grants and awards that may be available to you.
-
Social Services:
If you are in need, or hungry, or have fallen on hard times (even if you’re still in college), there are Social Services available to you in Massachusetts.
